Biography

Erika Mesojednik, PsyD


Dr. Erika Mesojednik earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She worked with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, and peer difficulties. During her pre-doctoral internship at Washburn Center for Children, she received advanced training in trauma-focused and parenting interventions. Dr. Mesojednik then completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Minnesota Hospital, focusing on health psychology, challenging behaviors in young children, and parent-child conflict.

Dr. Mesojednik has extensive training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and diabetes psychology. She has worked in various multidisciplinary settings using a collaborative care model to provide evidence-based interventions. She commonly uses motivational interviewing, CBT, and relational interventions. In addition, she provides parenting support and coaching to increase positive communication and connection.  

Dr. Mesojednik has additional training and experience conducting psychological evaluations, including projective/personality measures and assessment of commonly occurring problems that children and adolescents face. Dr. Mesojednik’s approach to psychological assessments is collaborative and tailored to each client. Her individualized reports provide diagnostic clarity and practical treatment recommendations for improved well-being and functioning. 

Dr. Mesojednik cultivates a supportive and caring environment individualized to her client’s needs. She uses a multicultural approach to help clients achieve their goals and frequently coordinates with schools, medical providers, and additional care team members to promote continuity of care and lasting positive change.
