Sarah True, M.S.


Sarah True is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at Antioch University New England. She earned her bachelor’s degree in conservation biology and studio art from Middlebury College and brings a holistic approach to therapy, grounded in a commitment to foster resilience and well-being in her clients.

Sarah has experience working with individuals across the lifespan. At Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, she completed a practicum in the pediatric neuropsychology department, where she conducted neuropsychological assessments with children, adolescents, and emerging adults. This work deepened her understanding of the complex interplay among neurological, developmental, and psychosocial factors in shaping individual functioning. At the White River Junction VA Medical Center, she provided care for Veterans navigating multifaceted biopsychosocial challenges, further strengthening her training in trauma-informed and evidence-based treatments.

Sarah incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and behavioral skills training into her clinical work. She is known for her warmth, humor, and direct therapeutic style. She has a particular interest in helping her clients increase psychological flexibility, especially in adapting to health conditions and navigating identity transitions.

In addition to her clinical work, Sarah is a professional triathlete and two-time Olympian, having represented Team USA in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. She continues to compete in Ironman-distance events. Her background as an elite athlete informs her interest at the intersection of physical and mental health, performance, and recovery.
