APPROACH

At Hanover CBT, we believe in treating the whole person. Our new psychiatry services are designed to work hand-in-hand with therapy, offering thoughtful evaluations, careful prescribing, and ongoing support. Medication is rarely a stand-alone solution — we see it as one tool within a broader, personalized treatment plan built around each client’s needs, values, and goals.

Why We Added Psychiatry

For years, our practice has specialized in evidence-based therapies that help our clients live fuller, more meaningful lives. By adding psychiatry, we can provide more complete, integrated care under one roof, making it easier for clients to access the right support at the right time.

In the Upper Valley and surrounding region, access to outpatient psychiatric care is limited, and families often face long waits or disconnected services. Expanding our practice to include psychiatry is our way of responding to this need. Our goal is to make compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care easier to access and more closely connected with the mental health resources already supporting our community.

Collaborative Care

We know that the best outcomes happen when clinicians work as a team. Our psychiatric team collaborates closely with our therapists as well as with primary care providers and outside clinicians. This coordinated approach ensures that everyone involved in a client’s care is moving in the same direction, with the client’s well-being always at the center.

WHAT WE OFFER & HOW WE WORK

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations with individualized assessments that take the whole person into account

  • Thoughtful medication management, using evidence-based prescribing and careful monitoring

  •  Integrated treatment planning in collaboration with therapists, families, and other providers

  •  Collaborative goal-setting with clients and families to ensure treatment aligns with personal values and goals

  •  Ongoing follow-up with regular appointments to review progress, adjust treatment, and provide continued support

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

Our psychiatry team focuses on outpatient care, providing evaluation and ongoing management in a non-emergency setting. While we do not provide on-call crisis coverage, we coordinate closely with primary care practices, emergency services, and community resources to ensure that clients are safe and supported at every step.
