Biography

Ameesha Pani

Ameesha Pani was born in Acton, MA, and graduated from Concord Academy in 2023. She is currently a third-year student at Dartmouth College, double majoring in Psychology and Native American & Indigenous Studies.

During her sophomore year, Ameesha worked as a research assistant in the Social Identity and Dialogues (SID) Lab, where she analyzed physiological and linguistic data to examine the psychological impacts of racial conversations. Previous research shows that factors such as anxiety and stereotype threat significantly influence how individuals engage in discussions about race. Through her work with the SID lab, Ameesha hopes to contribute to interventions that reduce racial prejudice and foster stronger interracial relationships.

More recently, she joined the AI and Mental Health: Innovation in Technology-Guided Healthcare Lab. Her research there focused on training a generative-AI therapy chatbot, Therabot, using cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and amplification of positivity techniques. By developing dialogues that emulate patient-therapist interactions, the team seeks to create a scalable and accessible therapeutic tool.

In 2025, Ameesha began working as a Clinical Assistant at Hanover CBT. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, she embraced the opportunity to learn about the many roles that contribute to a cohesive clinical practice. She approaches her work with honesty, empathy, and sensitivity.
