Biography
Dylan Smith
Dylan Smith grew up in Los Angeles, California, and is entering her junior year at Dartmouth College. She is majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Human Biology and minoring in Public Policy with a focus on health policy.
At Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Dylan conducts research on glioblastoma in Dr. George Zanazzi’s laboratory, where she studies the expression of cell-adhesion molecules across different regions of brain tumors to better understand tumor growth and heterogeneity. She also volunteers with Patient and Family Voices in the Emergency Department, offering clients and families an empathetic, attentive presence while helping the department identify opportunities to improve the client experience.
Dylan is also an EMT with Dartmouth EMS, where she takes pride in caring for fellow Dartmouth students and supporting her campus community. She valuesher role at Hanover CBT, where she is learning about best administrative and clinical practices to provide thoughtful, coordinated, and compassionate care. Dylan plans to attend medical school, and her experience at Hanover CBT continues to strengthen her understanding of client-centered care and the kind of compassionate physician she hopes to become.
