Biography

Lilly Hines

Lilly Hines is currently a senior at Syracuse University, double majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. She is actively applying to graduate programs with the goal of becoming a Clinical Psychologist.

At Syracuse, Lilly volunteers as a research assistant in the OH Lab, under the mentorship of Dr. Jeewon Oh, where her work centers on commitment to singlehood and the relationship between singlehood and wellbeing. In this role, she guides participants through experimental protocols, analyzes data, and applies coding schemes to research findings. The lab broadly examines how people find health and happiness both within and outside of close relationships, often drawing on large existing datasets to explore questions of wellbeing across diverse populations and time.

Lilly also volunteers in the Child Health Lab under Dr. Katie Kidwell, whose research sits at the intersection of physical health, mental health, and key health behaviors, particularly sleep and eating in pediatric populations.

Beyond the lab, Lilly has completed two prior internships in private practice settings. At Skaneateles Psychology Associates in Skaneateles, New York, she gained hands-on experience through observing weekly clinical case consultations and developing outreach materials. Through her internship with Paths to Recovery Mental Health Counseling in Syracuse, New York, she worked alongside a licensed clinical social worker and facilitated therapeutic group sessions for children, cultivating a supportive environment that empowered clients to draw on their own strengths. Most recently, she began volunteering as a Crisis Text Line counselor, supporting individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, loneliness, substance use, and suicidal ideation.

Lilly joined Hanover CBT in May 2026 as a Clinical Assistant. As an aspiring clinician, she approaches every aspect of the role as an opportunity to deepen her understanding of what it means to most effectively practice mental health care.
