Penelope Brody

Penelope Brody is from Greenwich, Connecticut, and is currently entering her junior year at Dartmouth College, where she is double majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Science with a focus area in intelligence.

Penelope began her clinical research experience as a research assistant at Dartmouth Health during her sophomore year. As a Presidential Scholar in the Brain Imaging Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Roth, she studies verbal and episodic memory impairment in individuals with schizophrenia, cannabis use disorder, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. She also works in the Neuroimmune Psychiatric Disorders (NIPD) Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Juliette Madan, where she contributed to a narrative review on faith-based interventions in adolescent suicide prevention and developed a REDCap database to support clinical care and research for adults with neuroimmune psychiatric disorders. Through the Nathan Smith Clinical Shadowing Program, she observed neuropsychological evaluations, pediatric neuroimmune psychiatric assessments, client feedback sessions, and specialized neurological procedures.

Outside of her research, Penelope serves as Outreach Chair of Dartmouth’s Student and Presidential Committee on Sexual Assault (SPCSA), where she collaborates with students, faculty, administrators, and alumni to advance campus sexual violence prevention initiatives. She also serves on the Student Advisory Board for Dartmouth’s Sexual Violence Prevention Project, helping shape trauma-informed programming, consent education, and bystander intervention efforts for undergraduate students.

In 2026, Penelope joined Hanover CBT as a Clinical Assistant. She is passionate about understanding the science of mental health and the effective application of evidence-based psychological treatment and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. As a member of the administrative team, she helps foster a compassionate, welcoming environment for clients.
